Updating norton 360 2016 to 2016 xbox experience not updating

It keeps flashing on and off when I get to the desktop. I have a uni assignment to do and cannot get onto my computer.

For 3 days my Norton is giving me a red error when I open it. I use the Norton tool to remove and install and 5mins later off it switches, Used a chat session he took over my pc after about 30minutes he just gave up and left me without any antivirus software. Have a good quality signal & private Internet connection that is uninterrupted during the removal and reinstall process.

It says 'you are in danger, your pc is not automaticly protected vs virusses, spyware and other risks'. I have even removed and re-installed twice and then its fine for a couple of hrs but then comes up again and again.... Thanks in advance Hi @Off Trax, Sorry for the trouble, Could you please post a screen shot of the error message. I have windows 8 on a laptop all to current windows updates. Since then I have re installed but get this error!!! I've had the same problem for over a week with version 27.7.0.76. Make sure you are letting the removal and reinstall process be the only thing that the computer is doing during this process Do not be surfing the web and browsing while the process is working. Hello Turning off Fast Startup fixes many issues with Norton and other products also. I tried reinstalling twice before I read your post.

When I press the yellowish button: Solve now, Norton seems to be trying to repair the auto-protect function, but it always fails. I have sent you a private message requesting for logs for further investigation. I've done the removal and reinstall about 3 times and it seems to behave properly for maybe 5-10 minutes, but then reverts back to the auto-protect being disabled. Here is a link for turning off Fast Startup in Windows 10 it helps. I was pretty confident that I didn't have other programs going at the same time, but I thought it was worth another try.

When I look into my settings, I can see the slider of auto-protect greyed out (but it's on, I think). Please check it when you get a chance Also, are you getting any error code post system restart? So I followed your directions (which were quite good, by the way), and it seemed to work for the better portion of a day. I still think your instructions are definitely worth following, but it seems like this may be a larger issue within Norton. :-) My Norton product did an auto update over night and now I have this auto-protect issue also. Other settings indicate that I am protected but not sure with this consistent auto protect red X. Did not work, and in effect caused a host of other temporary problems which have since resolved.

Two remove and re installs and works for a few minutes then reverts back to disabled. HELP I just posted on another thread on the same topic. I can live with the red X icon, but I need to know that my computer is protected since this is a desktop that I use for working at home. I recommend you close all open windows during this process, have all current updates for your computer installed along with any Norton updates.
