Updating avg from bin file

When I try to do the Offline Update in the menu, it fails with the error message "Update failed: A bin file is missing." I tried formatting my USB stick to FAT and FAT32 -- in both cases, the system sees the USB stick, but the offline update fails.Have had free AVG antivirus for a few weeks and keep updating every couple days. I am also looking for the Solution, AVG may come up with an update to correct the issue.

We are a small IT consulting company and happen to have 3 different machines from different home customers that had/have the free version of AVG installed. Each of them have different reasons for having to reinstall (updating to new version, infections, etc...).

The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down.
