more accommodating - Sirius player not updating

I'd say this is a S50 firmware issue and not a Home Dock issue. I was updating my s50 to the latest firmware and someting went awry.

My battery was charged and I followed the excellent instructions here but something happened and it shut down right in the middle of the firmware update.

When trying to sign in to the sirius xm app on the hub it gives this error message.

sirius player not updating-27

I'm afraid of bricking my dock but I may give it a whirl today. I'm sitting here trying to update the software and logos etc on my S50--As I read the directions, it says once you plug the s50 into the Mac you'll get the "flash playr" mounted on the desktop..is not happening for me. On July 17th, Sirius had several channels added to their lineup of garbage (most of the channels are just that), and I just spent my third day speaking to elevated tech support.

The changes worked on my truck, but refuse to take effect in the car. Can anyone who has factory installed Sirius, please check to see if 55 and 57 were added. I do see the change in name on Channel 3 to Venus; they added Channel 128 (Joel Osteen coming in Fall), and that worked for me, change around a few country stations (56 became 59 and vise versa), dropped Channel 75 Classical Pops which I am upset about. I told them to disassociate my ESN with my account and start over. They could do away with alot of channels dedicated to one singer or a band that no one cares about in thirty years! I have an open ticket with their Product Support team and I've also posted on their Facebook page, which BTW I despise FB, but I did get the attention of a manager on the Sirius XM Digital Care Team who called me and he is still seeing what can be done for older Sirius radios. I listen to Studio 54; my husband - gross Howard Stern in his Aspen.

I did see "updating" this morning for the first time with the tech, but no dice for me... If Sirius wasn't built in, I'd probably use my i Phone and stream. I'm tired of talking to non-English speaking techs, where I know more about computers than they do. They read a script and don't understand that those channels do not appear, although the other changes took effect. BTW, I'm upset they stopped channel 75, the classical POPS, one of 3 channels I actually listen to. I added a Sirius radio to my C70 on July 18th but after finishing the installation I couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting #75 (Pops).

--Droo, @Network The Home Dock does wake up properly.

The issue is that the S50 can't seem to handle the back to back recording event properly.

[quote The home dock was released after the S50 kit was. I wonder if the well known issue where the home dock is unable to do back to back recordings from a powered down state is a home dock issue or maybe was addressed by the new media player firmware. I'd not be surprised if the home dock firmware is more recent as result of it. I'd say this is a S50 firmware issue and not a Home Dock issue.

After days of frustration, they said the Sirius unit in the 2008 c70 is not capable of accepting new added channels because it's a first generation unit. I want to know if anyone in MY 08 has successfully added 55 and 57. I told them to disassociate my ESN with my account and start over. They could do away with alot of channels dedicated to one singer or a band that no one cares about in thirty years! After searching their website I realized they'd dropped it, sure enough it was gone in my S60 (built in Sirius XM) too.
