Facebook too has jumped on the bandwagon with its product Workplace, which lets companies create their own internal Facebook-like group for employees.

Facebook is charging a per-user-fee for Workplace, at $3 per person for the first 1,000 active users; $2 for the next 1,000 - 10,000 people; and $1 for more than 10,000 active users.

And if Facebook hadn’t been invented, and hadn’t so thoroughly taken over the U. social media market, LINE would be the best all-in-one social hub available today.

for more than 10,000 active users. And if Facebook hadn’t been invented, and hadn’t so thoroughly taken over the U. social media market, LINE would be the best all-in-one social hub available today.

Line's subscription rate is priced at around $2.70 - $10 per user, which could potentially beat out Slack's pricing range of $6 - $15.

So the next time you find yourself reaching for the perfect reaction GIF, remember that you could be posting a nifty Line sticker instead.

When you sign up you’ll be asked what languages you speak (English, Japanese, or Korean) and what countries you would like to match with.

Include Japanese and Japan to and you’re sure to meet some new Japanese speaking friends!

If you’re prepared to give yourself time to get familiar with LINE’s layout, and to wander through all the different options and features–animated profile pictures are a nice touch–you’ll find the service has more to offer than a more simplified option like LINE is free long as you don’t accidentally wander into the sticker store, so you’ve got nothing to lose by asking a few friends to try it out with you.

Who knows, you might just prefer it to the Big Brother of social media, Facebook.

To Learn: Hi Native (https://hinative.com) Hi Native (from the makers of Lang-8) is the ultimate question & answer community for language learners. Hi Native is great for helping you practice and polish your Japanese because you can get help from native speakers and other language learners in real time without having to bother friends or classmates 🙂 Tip: You can use Hi Native for all kinds of languages, not just Japanese!

Also check out their sister service Lang-8 ( for even more language exchange services.

When studying Japanese or any foreign language, everyone knows that practice makes perfect! Today I’d like to introduce three great chat apps for practicing Japanese. With Hi Native you don’t have to make friends or wait to be matched, just post a question and it’ll go out to all the native Japanese speakers in the app to answer.

But it can be hard to stay motivated to practice everyday, especially if you don’t have any Japanese speaking friends available to talk with. I’ve personally tried all three and would highly recommend Japanese learners struggling to stay motivated to practice or looking for Japanese speaking friends to try them out. Most questions seem to be answered within a few hours, sometimes even within a few minutes!

All those features, the presence of ads, more than 30 add-on apps, and a half dozen different “stores” where you get your latest stickers and selfie tricks, makes LINE tough to navigate at times. It can only accommodate four people at the moment, but it’s easy to connect across devices and platforms, and you can arrange your chat windows into a variety of alignments.
