the scent is more on the mature side but i absolutely LOVE it!

The dark cap, clear flask EDP version is sweeter, more leathery on the dry down and lasts half the time the other version does.

On all fronts this gets: 10/10 I finally got to try it (and the black-rimmed version too)! The first time I tried this scent, several years back, I was with my daughter and a woman I as dating at that time. I was just starting down the path of my fragrance obsession so they were not surprised when I took us off course to a small perfume shop on Disney property. The pronouncement of Anis's note in a blatant and aggressive manner, while exaggerating the sprinkles, his departure from a synaesthetic moment will become an obligatory ordeal which can not be avoided. All that said, I strongly discourage blind buys of this one unless you absolutely cannot find it anywhere.

for the performance, i dont think there's much different, solid 12hrs longetivity and 4hrs great projection on those two.

Refined, classy and (if you are relatively new to fragrances) easily misunderstood.

LIDGE was the fragrance that opened my eyes (or perhaps I should say nose :) ) to the world of high quality perfumes in which Guerlain is TSAR (yes, the Van Cleef & Arpels pun WAS intended ;). I could slide the longevity slider on fragrantica to the right on a second screen after I run out of space on mine lol performance really is that good.

The cacao in LIDGE and Dior Homme Intense absolutely blew me away the first time I smelled it. I noticed that reviews tend to suggest LIDGE is suited for a more mature gentleman.

L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme Eau Extreme is launched in 2005 as the more intense, richer, smokier and deeper version of the original fragrance. Just my opinion, this is a true masculine, masterpiece of the fragrance world.

The perfume opens with notes of crystal citruses, star anise and elemi. I may get lots of flack over this but, If this fragrance did not come out we might have not had "D&G The One" , "Davidoff Silver Shadow","CD Homme". I bought this on a blind buy and never looked back.

It's a skin scent by this point but it's always a pleasure to see how modern perfumes are built on earlier innovations. First of all this Smells almost identical to the EDT vesrion but it is much more concentrated and with slightly less citruses in the opening.

A very pleasing entrant to the men's category, a segment I feel is light on fragrances like this one. I like this stuff a lot, and it garners many compliments from the ladies. I own both and honestly speaking they have the same notes and same components.

I cannot stress enough how tremendously important it is to give this fragrance another chance if you are among the people who don't understand cacao at first sniff!
